Two on Tap marks the creative collaboration of musical theater performers Melissa Giattino and Ron DeStefano. They will bring their show, A Tribute to Song and Dance, to Alexandria on Sunday, November 11 at the Jefferson High School gym at 3 p.m.

Their combined love for the melodies from the early days of Broadway, along with the precision of tap choreography, takes center stage in their show.

This concert will be an endowment concert, honoring three 2012 recipients, all from the Alexandria area: Spencer Brand, son of Jeff and Bonnie Brand; Alex Blaser, daughter of Todd and Rhonda Blaser; and Jenna Collins, daughter of Sharon Bridges.

Reveling in the chemistry and artistry of song-and-dance couples such as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, A Tribute to Song and Dance shows why those dancing duos continue to impress. They interweave their trademark tapping with songs such as Yes Sir, That’s My Baby; I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter; On the Sunny Side of the Street; Tea for Two and more.

Their piano accompanist will also be periodically featured playing piano favorites of the era.

The show is sponsored by the Central Lakes Concert Association (CLCA) as part of its current concert series. Concertgoers who wish to donate to the CLCA Endowment Fund will have an opportunity to do so that evening.

The doors open 45 minutes before the show. Season memberships may be purchased at the event or in advance by calling Jan Johnson at (320) 762-1350 or Bernita Darveaux at (320) 763-6248 in Alexandria or Bev Peterson at (218) 685-4667 in Elbow Lake.
