Readers, writers and rowdy comedy take the stage

Lakes Area Theatre (LAT) in Alexandria is offering the following productions this week:
ON STAGE
Visiting the LAT stage on Friday, November 2 from all over Minnesota are contributing writers to the newest edition of the Lake Region Review literary magazine. Eleven talented authors will read their poetry, fiction excerpts and nonfiction selections. Each will tell their own story.
This is a show for people with all tastes in literature. It begins at 7 p.m. Copies of the Review will be available for purchase at $10 each. The Lake Region Review is also available at Cherry Street Books, Alexandria.
ON THE AIR
Local playwright Kevin Lee penned the comedy The Genius, which will be heard on Sunday, November 4 on KXRA 1490 AM at 12:30 p.m. This show is a cross between the TV series Mad Men and the 1982 comedy film about the early days of television, My Favorite Year.
Directed by Kevin Lee, the show stars Lonnie Wing, Sandy Susag, Curt Ostenson, Kelly Smith, Keri Mohror, Quincy Roers and Tim Long. Hilary Ninman created the sound effects with Bruce Wegner in the recording booth.
