Vocal band Home Free will visit students at Jefferson High School (JHS) in Alexandria on Thursday, November 8, to demonstrate the craft of a cappella singing and help teens refine their musical skills. The residency is part of a four-day tour of the region including school programs in Morris and Glenwood, as well as a free performance in Alexandria.
The public is also invited to hear Home Free in concert on Saturday, November 10 at 7 p.m. at JHS gym.
The five-member group recreates the entire band experience in a rich blend of harmonies without instruments. Based in Minnesota, Home Free has toured extensively throughout the U.S.
The tour is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund. The concert is sponsored by Viking Library System and JHS.
JHS is located at 1401 Jefferson Street. For information, contact Gail Nordstrom at Viking Library System at (218) 739-5286.
