Letter - Don't let people mess with the Constitution

To the editor:

An extra-large thank you to the people who put on our Constitution celebration at City Park [in September]. It seems that the Constitution can be forgotten these days. At least some people would like to have it that way.

Some of our politicians, judges and others want to write their own versions and ignore the long-standing Constitution that has served us so well and preserved our liberties.

I guess there will always be those who think they are so smart they can tell the rest of us poor souls what to think. I beg to differ. No, I’m not a genius, but it does not take much to see where our country has risen to the top by sticking with the ideas from our forefathers.

Let’s stop those power-hungry people by keeping a close eye on them and not let them mess with our Constitution.
