Letter - Why did real estate taxes go up?

I heard Senator Ingebrigtsen’s radio ad one morning. He stated, “We went from a $6 billion deficit to a $1 billion surplus, without raising taxes.” I nearly fell out of my chair.

To the editor:

I heard Senator Ingebrigtsen’s radio ad one morning. He stated, “We went from a $6 billion deficit to a $1 billion surplus, without raising taxes.” I nearly fell out of my chair. I’m wondering why my real estate taxes went up 33 percent ($600).

All three local legislators, Westrom, Franson and Ingebrigtsen, stated in their Echo Press interview they worked hard to hold the line on taxes. I guess they can say anything and do something very different.
