Letter - Romney understands business

I keep hearing President Obama say that he wants to tax the rich so they pay their fair share. I believe this may be the reason President Obama is not a businessman.

To the editor:

I keep hearing President Obama say that he wants to tax the rich so they pay their fair share. I believe this may be the reason President Obama is not a businessman. As an example, if I manufactured a product for $100 and the government came along and taxed me an additional 20 percent, there is no way that I’m going to absorb that additional cost.

No, the rich aren’t going to pay the tax, everyone who purchases that product is going to pay the tax and that includes the middle class and the poor.

The rich are probably the ones who will be impacted the least by an increase in taxes. A good example of that are all the surcharges that are added by the trucking industry, because there is no way they can absorb all the increases in fuel costs. Who pays? We all do; rich and poor.

So the next time you hear someone tell you that we should tax the rich, hang on to your billfold, because you are going to pay more for your goods.

Vote for someone who understands how business works. Vote for Mitt Romney.
