Terri was born January 12, 1950 in Redwoods Falls to John W. “Bill” and Donna (Sinclair) Hillig. Bill moved his family several times due to his work. Terri grew up in Bismarck, ND, Wayzata and Moorhead. She graduated from high school in Moorhead and continued her education at Moorhead State University.
Terri went to work for her father, managing the Parkwest Apartments in West Fargo, ND. In 1972, Terri met Ross Bryant and the couple was united in marriage on July 8, 1972. They made their home in Moorhead until moving to Sioux City, Iowa in 1974. They were blessed with three children, Shanna, Lisa and Stephanie. In 1984, Terri and her family moved to Alexandria. In 1987, she went to work for K-Mart as a pharmacy technician. She has been employed with K-Mart for the last 25 years.
Terri and Ross were active in the Jefferson High School Band Boosters for many years. They chaperoned trips to Phoenix and Pasadena. They attended and worked at the parades that the band participated in and helped raise funds for the band.
Terri enjoyed raising shelties and loved her dog, Bailey. She also loved to spend time in the outdoors. She and her family had many camping trips throughout Minnesota. They took advantage of the close proximity of Carlos State Park and spent many weekends at the park. They enjoyed boating and cruising the chain of lakes in Alexandria. She and Ross liked going snowmobiling, too.
Most important to Terri was her family. She was proud of her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Terri is survived by her husband, Ross Bryant of Alexandria; three daughters, Shanna Olschlager and husband, Chad, of Moorhead, Lisa Thompson and husband, Kevin, of Pensacola, FL and Stephanie Bryant and friend Josh Anderson of West Fargo; four grandchildren, Logan and Carson Olschlager and Chandler and Sydney Thompson; two brothers, Greg Hillig and wife, Karen, of Bismarck and Jeff Hillig and wife, Joyce, of Pensacola; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 30 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The Rev. Marilee Bergerson was officiant and Virginia Hegre provided music. Interment in Pensacola will be private. Honorary pallbearers were June and John Sward, Rich and Linda Zuel, Mike Clayton and Jeremy Ehlert.
