Bales elected chair of state health, human services committee

Douglas County Commissioner Bev Bales was recently elected chair of the State Health and Human Services Committee at a conference of the Association of Minnesota Counties.

Numerous changes are happening in the health care field for all counties, including Douglas, according to Bales. She said it is important that all 87 counties keep in touch with each other’s improvements, changes, ideas and shared concerns.

The committee’s meetings are enhanced with webinars and conference calls to keep counties current with the issues. “I am pleased to be chairing this committee,” Bales said. “It is a challenge that I am definitely up to and I am excited to be serving in this new role.”
