Letter - A new voice and different perspective

I am a newcomer to public service; no different than our current representatives who were also new at one time. What I bring to the table is a new voice and different perspective. I will ask questions and, hopefully, add some common sense rhetoric to the mix.

To the editor:

I am a newcomer to public service; no different than our current representatives who were also new at one time. What I bring to the table is a new voice and different perspective. I will ask questions and, hopefully, add some common sense rhetoric to the mix.

This city has been my home for most of my life. I have gone to school here, gone to church here, been married here, and raised my family here. I will represent you vigorously and defend you vehemently from what I perceive to be unfair taxation.

I hope to see a new era of cooperation between our city and county to reduce unwarranted duplication of services. A nice gentleman reminded me that the school board should also be part of this cooperative effort. These are your local taxing entities. They should know what the other is doing to eliminate undue tax burden on all of us.

Please know that I seek this office with a sincere desire to serve the public good. There will be challenges ahead and I pray for wisdom at this time of decision for myself and for all of you.

I humbly ask for your vote on November 6.
