At the Minnesota Directors of Nursing Administration’s annual fall conference on October 10, Ashley Nelson from Carlos received a $500 scholarship to continue her nursing studies. Nelson is an LPN at Knute Nelson care center in Alexandria and attends Alexandria Technical and Community College pursuing a RN degree. Upon completing her schooling, she plans to continue a nursing career in long-term care.

Meagan Klarich, daughter of Steven and Julie Klarich of Miltona, received a $4,000 Dragon Scholarship from Minnesota State University Moorhead. The scholarship requires a high school class rank in the top 50 percent and a score of 28 or above on the ACT exam. Klarich plans to major in biology.
