Alexandria volleyball: Cards are No. 3 seed in 8AAA-North playoffs

Alexandria received the No. 3 seed and host a first round match in the Sub-section 8AAA-North volleyball playoffs Wednesday at 7 p.m. against No. 6 seeded Detroit Lakes.

The Cardinals have a 13-13 over­all record, while Detroit Lakes has a 7-15-2 record.

Fergus Falls received the top seed with a 23-5 mark and Bemidji is the No. 2 seed with a 20-7 record. Moorhead (14-13) is the No. 4 seed and Brainerd (11-16-2) is No. 5.

Second round action will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the site of the higher seed, with the semifinals on Tuesday, October 30 at 7 p.m. at a neutral site.

The Section 8AAA championship will be Saturday, November 3. Bemidji is the defending section champion.
