Tri-State Manufacturers Association hosts facility tours

On October 2, Tri-State Manufacturers’ Association (TSMA) provided an opportunity for Commissioner of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Mark Phillips and area legislators to learn more about the operations, challenges, technologies and employment options in manufacturing in west central Minnesota.

Phillips joined TSMA staff and board members for a day-long exploration that included four manufacturing tours in west central Minnesota, from Fergus Falls to Elbow Lake to Alexandria.

The day culminated in a dinner gathering with Phillips as guest speaker. Representatives Bud Nornes and Torrey Westrom, as well as Toni Merdan from Congressman Collin Peterson’s staff, joined in throughout the day.

The tour sites included Vector Windows and West Tool and Design in Fergus Falls, Cosmos Enterprises in Elbow Lake and Alexandria Industries in Alexandria.

TSMA board members Mike Westergard (StoneL), Tyler Wirth (The Work Connection), Elroy Vesta (EJ Enterprises) and Evan Westra (West Tool and Design) joined TSMA executive director Sandy Kashmark in hosting the event.

TSMA is a membership organization serving manufacturers and related industries in west central Minnesota and eastern North and South Dakota.
