Letter - Bob Cunniff represents core values of community

I have spent the better part of 20 summers at my family cabin on Lake Ida. To me, Alexandria is a second home, the citizens my neighbors. I cherish Alexandria’s common sense community values of hard work, fairness, and love of neighbor.

To the editor:

I have spent the better part of 20 summers at my family cabin on Lake Ida. To me, Alexandria is a second home, the citizens my neighbors.

I cherish Alexandria’s common sense community values of hard work, fairness, and love of neighbor. That’s why I’ve watched Representative Mary Franson’s time in the Minnesota State Legislature with such bewilderment.

More than once, I asked myself: “This person represents the people of Alexandria?”

From her strange proposed legislation to roll back immunization law to her embarrassing comments about the poorest Minnesotans, I feel Representative Franson has done the people of Alexandria a disservice.

That’s why I’m so excited about Bob Cunniff. Having built a reputation of working with others as a teacher, a coach, and as a citizen, he is a candidate who represents the core values of his community and who will be an effective representative committed to addressing community concerns, rather than a personal ideology.
