Letter - Peterson should answer questions

It is about one month until the election, and Collin Peterson has refused an invitation for town hall debates from Republican challenger Lee Byberg.

To the editor:

It is about one month until the election, and Collin Peterson has refused an invitation for town hall debates from Republican challenger Lee Byberg.

Apparently, Congressman Peterson will only agree to two studio debates, with no questions from the audience. Why? Is he afraid to answer questions about his positions and votes in Congress?

Mr. Peterson owes it to the people of the Seventh District to explain his voting record. Why is he now supporting Obamacare, after he claims he voted against it the first time? Why did he support cap and trade legislation?

He has not spoken out or offered any solutions that we know of to our national debt.

He has a responsibility to meet in public forums to answer questions. He represents the people of the Seventh District, not Washington, D.C.

Support Lee Byberg for Congress on November 6.
