CLC performers

of the week

Alexandria’s Emily Korkowski and Megan Bristow were selected as Central Lakes Conference performers of the week for their contributions to their respective sports.

Korkowski scored both goals in a pair of one-goal games against St. Cloud Apollo and Moorhead for the Cardinal girls’ soccer team.

Bristow volunteered to fill an absence for the Cardinals in the 500 free event, winning that event in the girls’ swimming and diving meet against St. Cloud Tech.

Men’s adult basketball league registration

Lakes Area Recreation is taking registrations for the men’s adult basketball league.

League will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Discovery Middle School and Lakes Area Recreation gyms. Play is scheduled to start November 27.

The cost is $415 per team and deadline for registration is November 9.

Deer hunter sight-in days

The Alexandria Gun Club will hold its annual sight-in days on Saturday-Sunday, October 20-21 and 27-28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its outdoor shooting range.

To get to the club, take Highway 27 west of Alexandria to Englund Road. Go north one mile to Magnuson Road and take a right, then drive ¼ mile. You can also follow signs from Highway 295 and Highway 27.

Youth basketball at LAR

Lakes Area Recreation is now accepting registrations for the youth basketball program for boys and girls in grades 1-6.

The 4-6 grade season will run from November 3 until January 12. The 1-3 grade season will run from December 1 until February 16.

A parent/coaches meeting will be scheduled for Wednesday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the U of M Extension conference room. The fee is $47.
