Authorities in Pope County are investigating a suspected arson that destroyed a cabin on the west side of Lake Reno Tuesday morning.

Authorities in Pope County are investigating a suspected arson that destroyed a cabin on the west side of Lake Reno Tuesday morning.

The Pope County Sheriff's Office, along with the Lowry Fire Department and Glenwood Fire Department, responded to the fire in Reno Township at about 5:15 a.m. The structure was a total loss.

A fish house, blue and tan in color, was also taken from the scene of the fire.

The Minnesota State Fire Marshal is assisting in the investigation.

Also, on the same morning, the Prairie Lakes Co-op grain elevator in Lowry reported vandalism. Someone cut tarps used to cover piles of corn and beans.

The sheriff's office said it is possible the two cases are connected. There have also been other recent reports of vandalism in the Lowry area.

Anyone with information about the crimes is urged to call the Pope County Sheriff's Office at (320) 634-5411.
