Area students to help Stuff-A-Truck
The Stuff-A-Truck Program is celebrating its 12th year. District 206 students are asked to help make the program a success and fill the shelves at the Outreach Food Shelf of Douglas County.
The Stuff-A-Truck Program is celebrating its 12th year. District 206 students are asked to help make the program a success and fill the shelves at the Outreach Food Shelf of Douglas County.
Beginning Monday, October 29 and continuing through Friday, November 9, students are asked to bring non-perishable food items and specific non-food items to fill bags and boxes in their classrooms. There is a need for items such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, bar soap, diapers and cleaning supplies.
Other items needed include pasta, rice, toothpaste, soups, baby food, peanut butter, jelly, canned goods and more.
On Friday, November 9, the Stuff-A-Truck semi will come to each school in School District 206 and the students will help “stuff” the trailer for the Outreach Food Shelf of Douglas County.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
• 9 a.m. Jefferson High School
• 9:25 a.m. Early Education Center
• 9:35 a.m. Woodland Elementary
• 10 a.m. Lincoln Elementary
• 10:30 a.m. Voyager Elementary
• 11 a.m. Garfield Elementary
• 11:30 a.m. Miltona Elementary
• 11:50 a.m. Carlos Elementary
• 12:20 p.m. Discovery Middle School
