Volleyball: Minnewaska drops two in WCC

Minnewaska, playing without the services of setter Ashton Byrne and middle hitter Taylor Noetzelman, was swept by Morris/Chokio-Alberta Tuesday night 25-13, 25-17, 25-13.

The loss took the Lakers out of the running for the conference title, leaving unbeaten Sauk Centre the outright winner. Minnewaska and Morris are both 8-3 after Tuesday’s contest.

Minnewaska’s Abby Mitchell and Alexis Guggisberg took over the setting duties, as Mitchell had 13 set assists and Guggisberg four.

Lexi Amundson and Alison Hoeper both had eight kills at the net.

The Lakers played at Benson last night, Thursday, and will host Osakis on Monday. Tuesday, they will end their regular season with a road trip to Lac qui Parle Valley.
