Douglas Schneider, 52

Douglas Raymond Schneider, 52, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.

Doug was born July 13, 1960 in Ortonville to Donald and Darlene (Vanmill) Schneider. He attended school in Alexandria.

On August 24, 1979 Doug was united in marriage to Dawn Wagner in Alexandria. To this union the couple was blessed with four daughters. Doug worked at Continental Bridge as a painter for 29 years.

Doug enjoyed his Harley Davidson, four-wheeler rides, being outside; hunting and fishing, spending time with grandchildren and family, which he was always there for.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn; daughters, Trisha (Mike) Berneking of Farwell, Tanya Schneider of Almora, Tara Schneider of Alexandria, and TieAnna Schneider of Alexandria; grandchildren, Jasmine White, Hailey Carlson, Carter Berneking; sisters, Debra (Dave) Kalkman of Gardner, KS, Melody (Duane) Haabala of Brandon, Sandra (John) Stevens of Pittsburgh, PA, Ginger (Kevin) Martinson of Big Lake, and Jody (Dave) Gwinn of Alexandria; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene; daughter, Tessa; and niece, Madison.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 10 at United Methodist Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Jeff Hansen officiating. Inurnment was held at Pioneer Park Cemetery in Moe Township. Honorary urn bearers were all of Doug’s nieces, nephews and great friends.
