Tennis: Osakis takes Prairie Conference title

Concerned about the weather last Thursday, the Osakis tennis team moved its match against Parkers Prairie up a day and took care of the Panthers 7-0 on Wednesday.

The win, which was the Silverstreaks’ 18th straight to start the season, cemented another Prairie Conference regular season championship for Osakis.

The Silverstreaks put the finishing touches on that title by sweeping every match in straight sets. Taylor Kraemer, Lauren Silbernick, Hannah Baker and Alexa Hoffarth secured wins in the singles lineup.

Angie Bowman and Katie Anderson made it look easy in a 6-0, 6-0 win at first doubles. Katelyn Foster and Elyse Wiener won at second doubles, while Ashley Kraemer moved from fourth singles to third doubles with Hannah Szech as the duo dropped just one game in the straight-set win.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle finished in second place in the final regular season standings behind Osakis. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa was third, while the Panthers finished fourth.
