Volleyball: Osakis sweeps Long Prairie-Grey Eagle

The Osakis volleyball team found ways to get points when it needed them in a 3-0 sweep over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle last Thursday.

The Silverstreaks and Thunder exchanged points back and forth at various stretches in each set. In the end, Osakis was able to pull away in all of them, winning 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

“Our offense really heated up and got stronger,” head coach Kirsten Wessel said of their second set. “Our passing was very good and our team communication was working well. Game three, we took an early lead and stayed strong.”

Becka Sadlemyer continued her strong season with a team-leading 12 kills. Annalise Savageau did a little bit of everything with four kills, 14 assists, three aces, seven digs and four blocks. Tayler Waldvogel led the defense with 19 digs, while Dani Chisholm added 13.

“Really, everyone had a great night,” Wessel said.

The win moved Osakis to 16-5 overall and to 7-1 in the Prairie North Conference.
