Lakes Area Recreation wrapped up its first-ever “Holy Moly Ole Five Race Series” with a one-mile sprint down Alexandria’s Broadway before the homecoming parade on September 22.

Organizers said the series was a success. Proceeds from the event went directly toward youth programs and scholarships.

Major sponsors included Z99/KX92/KXRA, Alexandria Hotel and Hospitality, The Bike and Fitness Company, Subway, Orb Management, Heartland Orthopedic, Cornerstone Chiropractic, Bremer Bank, Super 8, Partington/Zimny Insurance, and Burger King.

LAR organizers noted that Living Waters Church also contributed to the series by providing volunteers and water at each race.

LAR sent a special congratulations to the runners who completed all five races in the series: Bobby Benson, Bill Carter, Al Edenloff, Celeste Edenloff, Bruce Evink, Adam Fredrickson, Nan Haggerty, Brian Hiles, Dan Lauer and Coni McKay.

LAR is planning another Holy Moly Ole series next year, with some streamlining and new additions. For more information, follow LAR on Facebook or go to www.lakesarearecreation.com.
