There will be a benefit luncheon for Janine Roers on Sunday, October 7 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church Parish Center in Urbank. Sloppy joes, pasta salad, baked beans, chips, bars and beverages will be served.

In February, a cow stepped on Roers' left foot. Life-threatening infection set in, resulting in a big toe amputation. Later, her right ankle was diagnosed with a septic infection. In June, Roers was admitted into the hospital for a below-the-knee, right leg amputation. She is now home recuperating and attending rigorous physical therapy.

Thrivent for Lutherans will provide partial matching funds for this benefit.

Donations should be made out to Janine Roers Benefit and sent to Midwest Bank, Janine Roers Benefit, PO Box 40, 105 East Soo Street, Parkers Prairie, MN 56361.
