Volleyball: Minnewaska tops BOLD 3-1

Minnewaska improved to 7-1 in West Central Conference volleyball action Thursday night, defeating BOLD in a 3-1 contest and putting the Lakers just one game back of undefeated and state-ranked Sauk Centre, who head to Minnewaska tomorrow night, Thursday.

The Lakers fought hard through set one on the road, eking out a 25-23 win before winning the second set more easily 25-15.

BOLD found some strength in the third set, winning 25-15, but Minnewaska battled back for a 25-20 fourth set and match win.

Lexi Amundson and Sydney Joos paced the attack game for the Lakers with 16 and 11 kills, respectively, and Ashton Byrne produced 40 set assists in the four-set win. Alison Hoeper had 16 digs.
