Shalom Lutheran Church to host animal blessing
Shalom Lutheran Church will host a blessing of the animals celebration on Sunday, September 30 at 9:45 a.m. on the patio by the bell tower.
Shalom Lutheran Church will host a blessing of the animals celebration on Sunday, September 30 at 9:45 a.m. on the patio by the bell tower.
The blessing of the animals is a tradition that goes back to St. Francis of Assisi, who taught that God's love extends to everything God has made, including the animals.
Members and guests are invited to bring a pet or a photo of one to receive a blessing. Shalom is located at 800 County Road 44 Northwest, Alexandria.
