The Echo Press is excited to announce its latest publication – Chicz.

The premiere issue of the free magazine will appear in newsstands, stores and locations throughout the Alexandria area on October 1.

Chicz is targeted to busy women of all ages who are immersed in today’s fast-paced world of family and/or work.

Featuring full-color photos, graphics and art, the magazine will present timely and lively information about a variety of topics – fashion and beauty, home and garden, and health and fitness.

There will also be regularly appearing columns such as “The Real Chicz of Douglas County,” “A Guy’z Perspective,” “Great Readz,” “Puzzlez ‘n Gamez,” and much more.

In the debut issue, women can find out how to design their own clothes, make a pumpkin crunch cake, protect their computers from identity theft, add texture to their hair, discover 10 uses for vinegar, accessorize their nails and more.

This is not the newspaper’s first venture into producing a women’s publication. It also printed A Woman’s Guide to the Good Life.

This new magazine takes that concept to a new level with a completely new look and content, and eye-catching design.

“Chicz presents information in a fun, easy-to-read format,” said Jody Hanson, publisher of the Echo Press. “Women today lead very active lives and time is precious. Chicz presents interesting tips and tidbits in short vignettes that will fit perfectly with their busy schedules.”

The magazine will be available at the Echo Press Women’s Showcase at the Broadway Ballroom in Alexandria on Thursday, October 4.

The newspaper invites readers to share their thoughts about Chicz and ideas for future issues. E-mail ChiczMag@gmail.com, go to facebook.com/ChiczMag, or twitter.com/ChiczMag, or ChiczMag.areavoices.com or drop us a line at Echo Press, Attn: Chicz, P.O. Box 549, Alexandria, MN 56308.
