Letter - Take the time to get to know Sara Carlson

To the editor:

Get to know Sara Carlson. You’ll discover she is uniquely qualified to be our mayor.

In my 15 years on the Alexandria City Planning Commission, I have gotten an opportunity to meet many of you and hear a broad variety of issues brought before our commission on their way to the city council. I have learned how deeply personal every one of these issues can be as you seek to help us, your public servants, understand your goals and concerns.

This is why I am proud to support Sara Carlson as our next mayor.

Having worked with Sara during her nine years as a city council member, I am impressed with the breadth of her participation in our community. From her work on the Park Board to her involvement on the Joint Airport Zoning Committee, she has demonstrated a broad and deep interest in all facets of Alexandria; from how our children are educated to how land is responsibly and thoughtfully developed for future use.
