Things got a little racy on Sunday at the 2012 Grape Stomp at Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria when one Sauk Rapids woman stripped off her socks and entered the stomp, proclaiming her team as “50 Shades of Grapes.”
Her team won the coveted prize – an “I Stomped my Bung Off” T-shirt.
Wine lovers from as far as Portland, Oregon sallied their way onto the stage to Stomp for a Cause on Sunday. This year’s Stomp for a Cause benefited the Alexandria Area Arts Association.
Beautiful weather abounded all three days as event-goers wound their way through exhibits, food venues and, of course, wine samplings. Live music, comedy shows, artist demonstrations and the Johari Tribe belly dancers kept the vineyard vibe grooving throughout the weekend.
More than 13,000 people populated the grounds on Saturday, according to KXRA’s Michael Right, the Grape Stomp tent announcer.
Carlos Creek Winery owner Tami Bredeson estimated a grand total of 17,000 people this year.
