With a 112-73 win over St. Cloud Apollo Thursday, the Cardinal girls’ swimming and diving team equaled its win total of the 2011 season, improving to 2-2 for the year.

Eight of the 12 events went in the Cardinals’ favor as they won a pair of relays, and picked up two wins from Madalyn Winger, who swam to victory in the 100 fly and the 500 free.

Rachel Peterson claimed top honors in the 200 free, Kate LeBrasseur won the 200 IM, Kalli Bowser the 100 free and Hannah Eklund won the 100 breaststroke.

The victory also included nine season bests by Alexandria, including two from Hannah Lindgren and Maddy Gorghuber.

Heather Johnson’s improvement in the 200 IM and Rachel Kriese’s score increase in diving were the biggest improvements for the night.

The Cardinals will be at Willmar tomorrow, Thursday and will be at Sauk Centre on Saturday.
