Jefferson High School has spirit, how ‘bout you?
The school geared up for homecoming week with a coronation ceremony Monday morning coordinated by the Jefferson High School Student Council.
Seniors Shelby Iverson and Kyle Blank were crowned queen and king. They’ll reign over a homecoming week that’s filled with a variety of activities to promote school pride and fun.
All the events will lead up to a homecoming parade that’s set to begin at noon this Saturday. It will start at the east gate of the fairgrounds and proceed to Cedar Street and 5th Avenue, then on to Broadway to 15th Avenue, ending at the JHS parking lot.
A pep rally and community tailgate party will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Citizens Field. The rally will include cash prizes for the first, second and third place entries in the parade. The prizes will be based on creativity, crowd appeal and enthusiasm.
After that, it’s game time. The Alexandria Cardinals will clash with the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles at 3 p.m.
A homecoming dance from 8 to 11 p.m. that evening for 10th through 12th graders will culminate a special week of high school memories.
