Lloyd was born August 23, 1924 to Andrew and Mayme (Swenson) Anderson in Dawson. He was raised on the family farm with his brother and four sisters. He attended a one-room schoolhouse through the 8th grade and graduated from Dawson High School in 1942.

Lloyd came to faith in his youth. He was confirmed at Dawson Covenant Church on January 2, 1938, and baptized as a young adult at Medicine Lake Bible Camp.

He worked for Armour and Coin in Dawson and South St. Paul and attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and Northwestern College in St. Paul.

Lloyd was united in marriage to Vi Wiens August 31, 1951 at First Covenant Church in Minneapolis. They were blessed with three sons, Dean, Mark and Bruce. Lloyd worked for printing companies for 45 years; 28 years in Minneapolis, and 17 years in Long Prairie. In addition to the printing business, Lloyd spent 25 years working part-time in sales and service in the sewing machine business.

Following retirement in 1990, Lloyd and Vi moved to Alexandria. He was a member of Alexandria Covenant Church, Midwest Educational Computer Club, Golden K Kiwanis and Koffee and Kare. He traveled to Mexico, Honduras and Jamaica on short-term mission trips and was a volunteer at Bethany Home for more than 15 years.

Lloyd's life of faith included active service through teaching Sunday school, Boys Brigade, AWANA, serving as deacon, trustee, mission chairman and host for many years. His hobbies included woodcarving, woodworking, yard work, gardening and watching sports. He was a life-long student of the Bible. Lloyd loved Jesus and his family and especially enjoyed time spent with both.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vi; three sons, Dean (Debbi) Anderson of Alexandria, Mark (Sue) Anderson of Dallas, Texas and Bruce (Heidi) Anderson of Excelsior; a brother, Maynard (Virginia) Anderson of Golden Valley; four sisters, Evelyn Hanson of Dawson, Vivian (Carl "Cully") Edstrom of North Brook, Illinois, Lucille Anderson of Golden Valley and Phyllis (Harvey) Lundin of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren, Elise (Joe) Ruegsegger, Jordan (JoLynda) Anderson, Taite (Lindsey) Anderson, Titus Anderson, Ned (Denika) Anderson, Collin Anderson, Tessa Anderson, Isabelle Anderson, Gianna Anderson, Jedidiah Anderson and Ezra Anderson; five great-granddaughters, Keeley, Avery and Maya Ruegsegger, Jayna Anderson and Ellyana Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Michaela "Callie" Anderson.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 17 at Alexandria Covenant Church with the Rev. John LeVahn and the Rev. Trinity Opp officiating. Music was provided by organist, Mertice Brueske, pianist, Sue Johnson, vocalist, Cindy Orn, and oboe player, Kristi Bergeson. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Garfield. Pallbearers were his sons and grandsons.
