As a veteran, I was very encouraged by the positive article in a recent Echo Press about Beyond the Yellow Ribbon.

As a veteran, I was very encouraged by the positive article in a recent Echo Press about Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. The cast of persons working on this certification was very impressive. I am proud to have been a part of it. It is encouraging that it became a project for both Douglas County and the city of Alexandria. I want to thank everyone who has helped in making sure that there is a genuine welcome home for veterans that lasts.
I would particularly like to praise the leadership of County Commissioner Bev Bales. I commend Bev for taking the lead on this certification project. It is another example of her bringing “fresh ideas” forward. I know the ongoing work of Yellow Ribbon will be great for all veterans and their families.
