Being a mom can be rewarding and fun, scary and overwhelming, all at the same time.
A local organization offers all mothers of preschoolers - working moms, stay-at-home moms, stepmoms, expecting moms, new moms, single moms, married moms, foster moms, adoptive moms and moms of all ages - a chance to meet regularly to celebrate the joys of motherhood and encourage each other through the challenges.
The Lakes Area Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is a nondenominational group that strives to meet the needs of every mom with children from birth through kindergarten, including pregnant women.
Meetings include time for fellowship, guest speakers, creative activities, small group discussion and spiritual encouragement. Enjoy meeting with other moms while your children are cared for in the MOPPETS program.
MOPS will kick off its fall programming on Tuesday, September 18 at Alexandria Covenant Church in Alexandria.
The group offers two meeting times to accommodate everyone's busy schedule:
• The first Tuesday of each month from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m.
• The third Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m.
Childcare is available at all meetings.
Preregistration is recommended so organizers can plan for childcare, crafts, food, etc. To register or for more information, visit the website www.lakesareamops.org or call Steph at (320 763-3170.
