Syverson has essay published in New England Journal of Medicine
Matt Syverson of Alexandria, a St. John's University senior chemistry major, wrote an essay on the topic of social media in medicine. The essay was chosen out of 120 essays to be published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Syverson is a 2009 graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria.
Score is a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program
Taylor Score of Alexandria was recently named a semifinalist in the 58th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. He has the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring. About 90 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and more than half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship.
Frauenshuh helps create video parody
Over the summer, a group of St. Cloud State University students, including Logan Frauenshuh of Alexandria, and staff produced a parody music video, "Husky and I Know It," as a show of school spirit. The video, a parody of LMFAO's number one hit "Sexy and I Know It," includes the university's president, the Husky mascot and a large cast of dancing and lip-synching students. "Husky and I Know It" and a behind-the-scenes clip are both posted on YouTube.com/stcloudstatehusky.
