Letter - 'Right to pray' amendment is needed in Minnesota

We drove God out of the public schools, only to invite the police in to keep order.

To the editor:

Since the Supreme Court declared prayer illegal in our nation’s schools 50 years ago, there has been a steady erosion of morality among our people as well as a growing disrespect for teachers and those in authority.

We drove God out of the public schools, only to invite the police in to keep order.

On August 7, the voters of Missouri overwhelmingly approved a “right to pray” amendment to their state’s Constitution, despite concerns about the measure’s necessity and legality. We need to do the same in Minnesota.
