Card boys' soccer: Alexandria falls to St. Cloud Tech

The Cardinal boys’ soccer team couldn’t overcome a fast start by St. Cloud Tech as the Tigers won 3-0 to drop Alexandria back to .500 in the Central Lakes Conference last Thursday.

St. Cloud Tech scored two goals in the first half and added another in the second on a penalty kick. Andy Foley and Lucas Bonkrude each scored their first varsity goals for the Tigers as Tech improved to 4-1 on the season.

“Tech did a great job of keeping the ball at their feet, making the simple pass and patiently working the ball up the field,” Alexandria head coach Cahil Collins said. “While Alexandria did demonstrate better ball control toward the end of the game, on this night they were beat and can only look forward to improving their possession skills before the rematch.”
