Business filings up in Minnesota

Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie reports that new business filings for August 2012 were 4,772 and year-to-date filings are up significantly over last year.

January to August filings for limited liability corporations (LLC) filings are up 15.7 percent and overall business filings are up 12.7 percent, compared to 2011.

“With 42,935 new business filings in the first eight months of this year, we are on track for an all-time record in 2012,” said Ritchie. The total number of new business filings for the same period in 2011 was 37,460.

“These high levels of new filings reflect the strength of the economic recovery in Minnesota and our great business climate for entrepreneurs,” he added.
