Alexandria churches to host lecture on same-sex marriage

Cornerstone Church of Alexandria and New Testament Church of Alexandria are sponsoring a lecture by Jay Howard of Focus on the Faulty Ministries, on the dangers of legalizing same-sex marriage, on Monday, September 10 at 7 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, 7th and Hawthorne.

The public is invited to hear Howard present a four-point lecture dealing with the following topics:

--The question of the “gay gene” versus environmental factors, and what is involved in transforming a person into becoming homosexually oriented?

--The question of history, how many cultures have truly embraced homosexuality in recorded history?

--The question of cultural and legal problems, how will the legalization of same-sex marriage impact society?

--The question of how the Bible treats homosexuality, what does the Old Testament and the New Testament say about homosexuality?

This lecture coincides with the upcoming ballot amendment to the Minnesota Constitution regarding a ban on same-sex marriages in Minnesota.
