Alexandria couldn’t overcome a fast start by the Willmar boys’ soccer team on the road as Willmar dropped the Cardinals to 2-1 with a 2-0 win last Thursday.
Remigio Becerra scored two goals in the first half. He connected nine minutes in and again 13 minutes later to carry his team to the Central Lakes Conference victory.
Alexandria’s Zach Lamb had 12 saves in the losing effort. Willmar’s Charlie Trochlil stopped all seven shots on goal for Alexandria.
