Parkers Prairie volleyball: Panthers shoot for another LEC title

Coach Amy Revering will begin her third season as the leader of the defending Little Eight conference champion Parkers Prairie volleyball team, and this year’s squad should rank right up there with past powerful teams as five letter winners return.

“We have an incredible amount of experience, talent and love for the game on our team,” she said. “I am looking forward to a successful season.”

One of the keys to that suc-cess will be four-year starter Madison Dorn, who was a big part of last year’s 22-5 season.

“I have moved her to the out-side to bring out her powerful hitting,” Revering said of Dorn, who is one of three Little Eight Conference honorees back on the team this year.

“Micaela Noga, Ally Taylor and Amelia Hager, three-year starters, have shown a ton of promise in their blocking abili-ties and quick offense,” she added. “Jessica McDaniel con-tinues to show solid serve re-ceive. She has teamed up with Sierra Nori to provide quick, consistent defense.”

Noga, McDaniel, Taylor and Hager are all returning letter winners for the Panthers, and Dorn, McDaniel, Taylor, Hager, LaDeanna Swanson, Dana Wil-liams and Shelby Westad are the seniors on the team.

“I am looking forward to our upcoming scrimmages to see what the final pieces of the puzzle will be,” said Revering. “There have been a lot of won-derful surprises this year; girls stepping into roles that we weren’t sure of.

“The area that we are work-ing on the most is communica-tion on the court and keeping positive, motivating energy on the court.

“Volleyball is a game of mo-mentum and we need to main-tain a strong mentality to over-come these momentum swings,” she said. “We have a ton of talent coming off the bench, always pushing for a starting spot and making our starting rotation that much better.”

Revering sees Underwood as the leader in the Little Eight Conference this pre-season, while the Rockets, along with Henning and Wheaton, have the talent to pace the teams in the sub-section.

Revering will be assisted by Carla Bettin and Alicia Wunderlich.
