Osakis tennis: Streaks improve to 8-0

The Osakis girls’ tennis team improved its record to 8-0 on the young season on Monday as the Silverstreaks beat Parkers Prairie and Pierz by 7-0 scores.

Once again, Osakis showed off the depth that makes it one of the best Class A teams in the area. The Silverstreaks won every match in straight sets with the closest individual matches coming at No. 1 singles where Taylor Kraemer earned a couple 6-4, 6-1 wins against both opponents.

Lauren Silbernick, Hannah Baker and Alexa Hoffarth followed suit through the rest of the singles lineup against Parkers Prairie. Katie Anderson and Angie Bowman teamed up to win 6-0, 6-0 at first doubles against the Panthers. The duos of Katelyn Foster and Elyse Wiener and Peyton Garcia and Hannah Szech also earned easy wins at second and third doubles, respectively.

The lineups changed a little but the results didn’t in the 7-0 win over Pierz. Baker and Hoffarth moved up to second and third singles to earn a couple easy wins, while Szech moved into the fourth singles spot and won 6-2, 6-2.

Silbernick moved back into the top doubles spot with Bowman to win 6-1, 6-2. Garcia and Anderson teamed up to win 6-3, 6-0 at second doubles, while Wiener and Foster finished things off with a 6-1, 6-1 win at third doubles.
