MEMORIAL PARK RENOVATION

PARK RESTROOMS AND

HORSESHOE COURT

ALEXANDRIA, MINNESOTA

Douglas County is requesting bids for the Memorial Park Restrooms and Horseshoe Court Project. Sealed bids will be received by the Douglas County Auditor/Treasurer at the Douglas County Courthouse at 305 8th Avenue West, Alexandria, Minnesota 56308 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2012. Bids will be opened by the County Auditor/Treasurer at the open meeting at the above date and time. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope and plainly marked “Memorial Park Renovation”. The bids will be considered by the Douglas County Board at a regularly scheduled meeting on September 11, 2012. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality therein. Bid forms and plans are available at Architecture by Berg, 608 17th Avenue West, Alexandria. They are also available for viewing at Douglas County Public Works, 526 Willow Drive, Alexandria.

Bid Packages:

Owner will provide labor to install all roof trusses, roof sheathing, roof felt, shingles, roof vents, fascia, soffit, roof insulation, doors, door hardware, toilet partitions, grab bars, and mirrors. Owner will provide all labor and material for all painting work.

Bid A-all labor and material for Civil work indicated by Sheets C1 thru C9.

Bid B-all labor and material for concrete and masonry work indicated by Sheets A3 thru A7and S.1 thru S.6 including excavation, granular backfill, and masonry excavation.

Bid C-all material delivered to jobsite for structural steel, carpentry, ceiling insulation doors/frames/hardware per door schedule, fascia, soffit, roof vents, roofing material, toilet partitions and accessories, grab bars, and mirrors.

Bid D-all labor and material for Mechanical and Plumbing per Sheets M1.1 thru M4.1.

Bid E-all labor and material for Electrical per Sheets E1.1 thru E3.1.

Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in a sum equal to five percent of the full amount of the bid and must be in the form of a bidder’s bond. A bidder’s bond must be executed by the bidder as principal and by a surety, conditioned that if the principal’s bid is accepted and the contract awarded to the principal, the principal, within ten days after notice of award, shall execute the contract in accordance with the terms of the bid, the bid bond, and any condition of the governing body.

If a successful bidder does not execute a contract within the time allowed, the bidder’s bond shall be forfeited to the governing body and the project awarded to the next lowest responsible bidder. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Bid Bond of the three lowest Bidders for each contract will be retained until the contract has been awarded and executed, but no longer than thirty (30) days after the date of the Bid.

No bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with above requirements as to bond and licenses, and any deficient bid submitted must be resealed and returned to the bidder immediately.

Bids shall be in accordance with and submitted on the Bid form supplied within the Bid Documents. Failure to do so may result in rejection of the Bid.

The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities therein, and rebid the project until a satisfactory bid is received.
