Vargas/Larson

Mary Vargas and Jay Larson, both of San Diego, California, announce their engagement.

Mary is the daughter of Loli Wescott of San Diego, California and Bobby Vargas and Rebecca Rauber of Lemon Grove, California. Jay is the son of Ron and Lani Larson of St. Francis. He is the grandson of Laura and Ole Dosdall of Alexandria and the late Elmo Larson, and Mary Kalahar of Little Falls and the late Veryl Kalahar.

Mary is a 2001 graduate of Mount Miguel High School in Lemon Grove and a 2005 graduate of University of California Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in world arts and culture/dance. She works for San Diego Gas and Electric in customer relations/events/promotions.

Jay is a 1997 graduate of St. Francis High School and a 2002 graduate of Minnesota State University Mankato with a bachelor’s degree in marketing/ political science. He is also a 2004 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School. He works for San Diego State University as the assistant athletic director for compliance.

A September 29, 2012 wedding is planned at Sunset Cliffs, Luscombs Point in San Diego, with a reception to follow at McMillin Event Center, Liberty Station.
