Military personnel date night a success

The Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee sponsored a date night for military personnel on August 9. It was a chance for them to go out, with child care provided, and enjoy special discounts in entertainment and food.

The YMCA provided child care for school age children, and Calvary Lutheran Church provided child care for younger children.

At least five couples took advantage of special prices for the Beetles game. Theater and supper clubs also gave discounts.

“We hope this was a small way Beyond the Yellow Ribbon can again express our thanks for the tremendous sacrifices these folks have given by serving our country,” said Bev Bales, Yellow Ribbon Committee member. “God bless.”
