Eldora Annie Rosell, 89, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012.

Eldora was born August 16, 1922 in Spruce Hill Township, the daughter of Louis and Annie (Anderson) Rosell. She was saved at an early age and later baptized and confirmed at the Rose City Evangelical Free Church in Rose City. Eldora attended District #51 country school through the 8th grade. She then helped families babysit, clean and later on started working at Rose City Store. Eldora then moved to Alexandria, where she worked at P.G. Hakes Variety Store, National Tea and then at Jerry’s Jack and Jill as a cashier.

She was a lifetime member of Rose City Evangelical Free Church where as a young girl she enjoyed playing in the string band and was also a Sunday school teacher. Eldora loved playing rook and telling jokes.

She is survived by her brothers, DeWayne of Rose City; Eldridge and wife, Arlene of Miltona; sister-in-law, Elrene Rosell of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mabel and Viola; brothers, Alden and Tilford; brothers-in-law, Bernhardt and Richard; and sisters-in-law, Hazel and Donna.

A funeral service was held Saturday, August 18 at Rose City Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Larry Pearson and the Rev. James Brown officiating. Pallbearers were her nephews, Dennis Hultstrand, Gary Oberg, Don Oberg and Barry Rosell. Honorary pallbearers were all of Eldora’s nieces and nephews.

Burial was at Rose City Cemetery.
