Program addresses effects of Zequanox on zebra mussels

At an informational program on Friday, August 17 from 7 to 8 p.m., Mark Gaikowski, supervisory biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center, will speak.

At an informational program on Friday, August 17 from 7 to 8 p.m., Mark Gaikowski, supervisory biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center, will speak.

Gaikowski will share his knowledge on aquatic invasive species (AIS) and the research project being conducted to examine the effects of Zequanox on zebra mussels that were seeded last fall in Lake Carlos near the park.

The informational program is open to the public and will be held at the Lake Carlos State Park amphitheater. Vehicle permits are required on all vehicles entering the park. A 12 month permit is $25, a daily permit $5.
