The time all you corn-dog devourers, thrill-ride seekers, 4-H exhibit lovers and arts-and-crafts appreciators have been looking forward to all year long.

It’s the Douglas County Fair.

The fair kicked into action Thursday and will continue through Sunday, offering all kinds of family fun — rides and games; musical entertainment; piggy races; senior spelling bee; dog, horse and rabbit shows; mutton bustin’ rodeo; coin hunts; a Log Cabin Native American Cabin; contests for best aprons, quilts, flower arrangements and seed art; vintage car parade; demolition derby; tractor and truck pull; and of course, “Calorie Lane,” offering more food than you can shake a stick at.

Admission is $6 for adults, free for children 12 and younger and free for all 4-H and FFA exhibitors.

Also, remember to visit the Echo Press booth for our subscription special, which includes a free meal at Depot Express. See you at the fair!
