Parents' aging and future plans to be focus of upcoming workshop
In a free, educational workshop entitled “Heart-to-Heart: As Your Parents Age,” participants will receive basic education about the variety of ways to approach conversations with aging parents. An additional focus will include older adult service choices and health care directives.
Aging and future plans: a conversation that adult children often fear having with their parents. While most agree this topic is essential to discuss, many feel ill-prepared on how to have this conversation.
In a free, educational workshop entitled “Heart-to-Heart: As Your Parents Age,” participants will receive basic education about the variety of ways to approach conversations with aging parents. An additional focus will include older adult service choices and health care directives.
The 60-minute workshop will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22 and again on Tuesday, August 28 at Grand Arbor, Alexandria. There is no cost to attend; however, due to limited space, RSVPs are appreciated to (320) 763-1600. Root beer floats will be provided. It is jointly sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Knute Nelson.
Each participant will receive a workbook and handouts intended to be a resource for adult children and their parents. The workshop will be facilitated by Thrivent Financial representative Larry Gebhardt and registered nurse Anne Major.
