NOTICE OF MEETING

The Sauk River Watershed District will be hosting a public information meeting to discuss the results of the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) study conducted on Smith Lake, Faille Lake and Lake Osakis.

The purpose of this TMDL study was to determine nutrient sources and to quantify the pollutant reductions needed to meet state water quality standards for these three lakes. This study has been conducted over the past several years and is now finished and ready for the results to be presented to the public.

Members from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Wenck & Associates will be present to review the results and discuss with the public implementation efforts that can be done to improve water quality.

The Osakis TMDL meeting will be held on August 28, 2012 at the Osakis High School auditorium at 7 p.m.
