Classic Clippers baseball: Alexandria falls in NSCBL tourney

The Alexandria Classic Clippers dropped their final regular season game of the summer to Monticello in a 13-5 game on July 29.

Alexandria couldn’t keep up as Monticello scored six runs in the fifth inning to blow open what had been a 4-4 game through four innings. The Classic Clippers scored four runs in the third when they sent nine men to the plate.

Alexandria ended the regular season 11-3. The Classic Clippers fell in their first two games in the double-elimination North Star Classic Baseball League state tournament this past weekend. Alexandria entered as the five seed and fell to fourth-seeded Watertown 5-4 before dropping a 10-4 game to Woodbury on Sunday.
